WE HEART:
WENT
INTO OUR PIGGY BANK for Habitat for Humanity Orange County’s
Veteran’s Housing project: Calle Rolando, San Juan Capistrano
which will provide a home for a service person and/or his/her
family injured in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) or
Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). This is a pilot program of
Habitat for Humanity of Orange County and intended to provide
affordable housing for an underserved demographic within Orange
County. The hope is that this program will become a model for
other Habitat for Humanity affiliates and communities across
the country.
HELPED
SUBSIDIZE the girls’ volleyball and freshman
boys’ basketball programs for 2007-2008 at Oshkosh West
High School in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. This donation was made in
memory of Coach Steven L. Randall – mentor and role model
to hundreds of children in the local community AND his son,
Lance Randall, who stepped up as the boys basketball coach
to carry on in his father’s footsteps.
SAVED
OUR ALLOWANCE for One Voice. Since 1982 their philosophy
remains the same: They are a community group that creates ways
for people to get involved in helping people in need. All of
their programs center around the idea of face-to-face involvement,
creating a sense of family within the community. Programs include:
Christmas Food Program, Shon-da Bivens Emergency Relief Program,
Robert W. Sanderson College Scholars Program, Clothing and
Furniture Program, Schools Program and Barbara Stevens Summer
Camp Fund.
